Who’s hiring? These unicorns are

Many UK-based AI agent companies, particularly those that have reached unicorn status or are on their way, are actively hiring, and not just in the UK. Here are over 300 job openings The Freelance Informer found, with links to specific job openings found on their websites.

AI Agent Companies and Job Openings

Wayve: This company is at the forefront of AI for autonomous vehicles and is seeking a Staff Fullstack Software Engineer for their London office to work on the AI Evaluation team. At the time of writing Wayve had 114 job openings.

Quantexa: A data and security intelligence company, Quantexa is looking to hire a Principal Data Engineer to help their delivery teams contextualise data. Quantexa at the time of writing, had 32 jobs in all departments.

Tractable: This AI company, which applies computer vision to assess damage, has an opening for a Senior Data Scientist in Noida, India, within its research division. There were only 3 openings at the time of writing, all based in Asia.

ElevenLabs: Known for its AI voice generation technology, ElevenLabs is looking for a Research Engineer to work remotely in the UK, Poland, Germany, or the US. They had 59 openings at the time of writing.

Multiverse: The ed-tech unicorn that uses AI to personalise training is hiring a Generative AI Scientist for their research team in San Sebastian, Spain. Many other positions are also available in San Sebastian and in other markets such as Germany and the US.

PolyAI: A leading conversational AI agent company, PolyAI is looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for its team in London alongside other jobs such as Lead Software Engineer. Of the 22 jobs available, many are not geographically remote and you must be based in-country (i.e., London, New York City, Toronto).

Darktrace: The cybersecurity company that uses AI agents to fight cyber threats is looking for a Fullstack Software Engineer (React & Python) in Cambridge, UK. Some 30 job openings were listed at the time of writing.

Graphcore: This hardware company, which creates the processors that power AI, is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer for its Bristol, Cambridge, or London offices in the UK. This company has 34 job openings, mostly based in Bristol or London and even has graduate positions.

UPDATE: One company, Builder.AI was still posting jobs at the original time of writing, while going through insolvency. More details on the financial standing and ethical nature of their hiring practices have come to light since the original article was written.

According to news reports, hundreds of UK-based employees have fallen victim to the infamous collapse of unicorn Builder.ai as they remain unable to access redundancy payments.

The AI startup filed for bankruptcy in the US but failed to appoint administrators in Britain, meaning around 200 former UK staff are ineligible for government redundancy support.
